Description/Job Summary

The primary function of this role is to perform High Energy x-ray & CT inspection services on customer supplied products in accordance with customer requirements, written directions and standard industry practices. The High Energy Principle X-ray Engineer will work with the Business Development Manager and X-ray Technicians to complete jobs in West Coast ISG Lab. The HE PE will also be the company Subject Matter Expert and provide product development support for the high energy system product line.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Work with industry leading companies to capture internal and external geometry of their product using world class high energy and low energy digital x-ray and CT imaging products.
  • Help customers with failure analysis, product development, R&D and production level projects by utilizing digital radiography and computed tomography equipment.
  • Develop DR and CT techniques and perform imaging on customer supplied product.
  • Collaborate and scan 225 micro focus and 450 mini focus samples and become an expert in low energy CT scanning technique development.
  • Reconstruct and compile scan data with completed deliverables as per customer requirements
  • Provide feedback to the software team on improving EFX software suite
  • Develop creative sample fixturing methods to increase efficiency of the digital x-ray imaging process
  • Work with Business Development Manager to quote projects and propose scanning solutions to meet and exceed customer’s requirements
  • Customer service - interaction with clients and potential clients both on phone and in person to include webinars, onsite meetings, technical expertise, reports and presentations.
  • Perform post processing analysis on CT scan data according to customer requirements (e.g. metrology, CAD comparison, porosity analysis, automated inspection).
  • Maintain and continually develop world class leading x-ray and CT knowledge.
  • Experience with customer applications and interaction within digital radiography and CT markets.
  • Present NSI’s imaging capabilities to a large group of industry peers at specified events.
  • RSO and HE RSO procedure development for West Coast facility.
  • Host internal and external training classes.
  • Demonstrate NSI software and hardware products to prospective customers 5-10% of the time.
  • Provide operational support to the Business Development Manager and Inside Sales Representative.
  • Complete daily records of project completed.
  • Maintain equipment per NSI guidelines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on x-ray equipment.
  • Shipping and receiving of customer supplied parts and deliverables.
  • Travel up to 40% to customer sites or company headquarters, trade shows, etc
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends according to business needs.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position will have a minimum of 3 years industry experience.

Required Education

Candidates must have a minimum of specialized training in the field to be considered for the position.
